INSTRUCTIONS - TROUBLESHOOTING - RETURNS

The LAYEN AudioStream is a Bluetooth Music Receiver that will turn your stereo, speaker or docking station Bluetooth. Use it to stream and enjoy your music without the constraints of wires or having to leave your phone docked. With a built-in battery, the AudioStream can be used for approx. 12 hours when fully charged.

Instructions

Charge the AudioStream for approx. 3 hours (for the first charge). Plug the micro USB connection of the cable into the AudioStream and the USB connection of the cable into the USB port of a PC or USB charger.

The RED light indicates charging mode. If the RED light turns off, charging is complete. It will take approx. 2 hours for subsequent charges.

Remove the audio line out from the cable slot on the side of the device (refer to user manual if required) and insert into the device you want to turn Bluetooth.

Ensure your phone / device and the AudioStream are not more than 1m apart.

Activate pairing mode on the receiver; making sure the AudioStream is already off, hold down the power button for approx. 6-7 second to turn on and enter pairing mode. A blue and red LED will flash intermittently.

Activate pairing mode on your mobile phone’s Bluetooth function and set the phone to search for all Bluetooth device within range. Select ‘AudioStream’ from the list of devices shown.

Successful connection will is indicated when the blue LED flashes twice every 4 seconds. Pairing via NFC: If your mobile phone supports Near Field Communication (NFC), please active the NFC function in your phone. Use the AudioStream NFC zone to touch your phone’s NFC zone for a few seconds. AudioStream will turn on automatically and pair with your phone.

When the AudioStream has been successfully connected to your Bluetooth device you are ready to start playing music or streaming audio.

After successful pairing, the receiver and the mobile phone will remember each other, they will not need to re-pair next time. Every time the receiver is turned on, it will connect to the last connected device automatically.

Troubleshooting

AudioStream won’t turn on. a) Please charge the AudioStream. b) The battery will enter the sleep mode if the AudioStream hasn’t been in use for a long time. The red LED will come on after charging for 30 minutes.

AudioStream still won't turn on. If charging via PC please ensure that the computer is not in hibernate or sleep mode as this will prevent charging. Please also try a different USB slot in the computer or a USB Plug.

The AudioStream doesn't fit. The device you are using the AudioStream with must have a 3.5mm AUX (audio input) jack for it to connect.

AudioStream won’t turn off. Please charge the AudioStream for about 2 seconds.

AudioStream won't pair and connect to a Bluetooth device. Prior to using the AudioStream for the first time, it will need to be paired with a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. Please see pairing process above. Pairing mode will last approx. 2 minutes. If the AudioStream cannot connect with a device within this time frame it will return to standby mode automatically. When left in standby mode for longer than 5 minutes, the AudioStream will turn itself off automatically. Make sure that the Bluetooth receiver supports A2DP. Make sure the AudioStream and Bluetooth device are no more than 1m apart from each other. The closer the better when pairing. Make sure the Bluetooth device is in pairing mode

Issues connecting / streaming audio. Ensure the AudioStream is on and has been charged. Please turn the AudioStream off and on again and retry the process. Test your non-Bluetooth device on its own to ensure it is functioning ok. Make sure you have pressed the pairing button on your Bluetooth device if there is one, otherwise it will not be found by the AudioStream.

Does the AudioStream work on a different non-Bluetooth device e.g. a different stereo or docking station? You can even test it in your car stereo, if your car has an AUX input. If it does this suggests an issue with the original device you are trying to use it with. If it is still not working it could be a fault with the product, in which case please return it to us.

Lost connection. When the receiver and the mobile phone are out of effective range they will disconnect. They will automatically reconnect once back in effective range.

Can't connect to last paired device. When the receiver is in standby mode and not connected with a Bluetooth device, quickly press and release the MFB button once to connect to the last paired device.

Asked for password. The pairing password of the AudioStream is “0000”. If you are pairing with a transmitter, the transmitter must have the same password. If pairing still fails after several tries, please refer to the Bluetooth transmitter’s user’s manual for further information.

AudioStream didn't remember one of my devices. The transmitter can remember up to 8 paired devices. When the paired devices exceed this, the first paired device will be replaced by the latest and so on. Each time the AudioStream is turned on, it will automatically connect to the last paired device.

No sound. If no sound is playing, make sure that the AudioStream is connected to the Bluetooth device and that the music / audio is playing and hasn't paused or stopped. Check the volume levels on both devices to make sure they are up.

Music has paused. The music will automatically pause when you dial a phone number or there is an incoming call. The AudioStream doesn’t have a microphone, so you need to switch the call to the mobile phone. The music will automatically play when the call has ended.
